Netherlands Archaeology Poetry Prize
Vestigia has decided to sponsor the Netherlands Archaeology Poetry Prize. NAPP (LAAP in Dutch) is a national prize awarded to the best poem about archaeology and cultural heritage written in the Dutch language. This competition, held for the first time in 2021, is open for all poets, professional and amateur, from the Netherlands and Flanders and aims to engage more people in both archaeology and poetry. First prize is a sum of euro 1000,00. Submitting a maximum of three poems per person can be done before the closing date of 1st of july 2021. Poems submited should be inspired by an archaeological find, site or activity. A Jury lead by the former Poet Laureate Tsead Bruinia will make the final decisions, to be publicly announced in november 2021. Twenty shortlisted poems and three pize winners will be included in a special poetry collection to be published at the same time.
