Understanding how a development might affect any archaeological- or other heritage remains is a requirement of the planning system in the Netherlands, both on land and at sea. We provide expert guidance to our clients making clear what the heritage issues are on a site and how they should be managed so that there are no unwelcome surprises. Our consultants are experts in the statutory and strategic requirements of heritage planning. We can deliver early stage advice and guidance in fulfilling planning requirements and can negotiate appropriate solutions with Local Planning Authorities and heritage bodies on behalf of our clients in order to balance the needs of development and heritage. Our consultants can be relied upon to deliver pragmatic and realistic advice throughout your project: from the project planning stages via a quickscan or risk appraisal through to providing heritage statements and project designs, handling the tender process and managing the contributions of other heritage specialists during fieldwork and post-excavation phases.
Where possible and if required we can combine multiple assessments, for example: archaeology, cultural heritage, natural environment and/or explosives.
Dealing with archaeology and heritage issues as part of the spatial planning process can often be complicated and is not always easy to follow. We are happy to provide you with practical advice or a second opinion on your specific project.
